Clutter Free, Thoughtful Gift Ideas

Clutter Free, Thoughtful Gift Ideas

As we begin the season of buying and receiving lots of stuff, clutter can build up before we know it. Trying to find space for all the new things can be a challenge all on its own. Clutter-free, thoughtful gifting is a great way to make sure you don’t have excess clutter that lasts even after the holidays. Let's shift our focus from more stuff to clutter-free gift ideas that your family and friends will love to receive.

Memorable Experiences

Clutter Free, Thoughtful Gift Ideas

There are many ways to show someone you care without contributing to their donation box, and one great way is through experiences! This is something that can be shared together, all while making lasting memories too! Some ideas of experiences you can gift for the holidays are:

  • Day trips

  • Concerts

  • Classes (cooking, art, etc.)

  • Camping

  • Spa/massages

Another good gift that is clutter free is to buy a subscription to a podcast that someone likes. Two of my favorites are Tangle and Hayhouse Radio Pocast. I would love that gift!

Donations

Another great gift idea is to make donations to charities, sanctuaries, and other organizations that your loved ones support. There is alwasy a worthy cause for those in need that could use donations. Think about what is important to your loved one. For example, donate to a local animal farm sanctuary if your loved one supports animal safety and care. Another idea could be donating food to a local food bank. It doesn’t have to be a big donation, even a little goes a long way. Then you can pick up a box of holiday cards to tell them what you donated in their name!

Pro tip: A great idea to reduce any stress that could come from making donations for loved ones is to plan your budget. Decide on how much you want to spend for the holidays on each person, and make a donation based on the amount you come up with!

Special Holiday Cards

Another amazing gift idea is to personalize a special holiday card. Put into words the impact that your loved one has had on your life, the things you love doing together, and how you feel about them. Sharing this with them will fill your friend, coworker, or family member with love and appreciation, which is priceless! Cards are small and flat, making them easy to organize into a memory file, leaving no clutter. And they can pull it out and read through it anytime they need to feel the love!

Physical Gifts

We can also give physical items, but to make sure not to add to the clutter, we can focus on items that our loved ones can use that will add value to their lives and homes. Of course we think gifts that help them get and stay organized are great!

Here are some ideas:

  • Do they love to cook? Get them a spice organizer or maybe drawer organizers.

  • Do they spend a lot of time in their cars? Get them a trunk organizer or pouches to go on the back of their seats.

  • Do they love tospend time hiking and camping? Get them a backpack to organize all of their gear.

  • Maybe they have pets? Get them something to hang up collars, leads, etc.

  • Or if they love houseplants, get them new pots or plant hangers to give them more room!

Gift cards to local places are also a great way to give a thoughtful gift while supporting local businesses in your community. A coffee shop, bakery, restaurant or retail store are all great options.
